Typically all of our services will fall under one of these three categories. Should chargeable labor not fall into one of these categories, a separate line item will be created on all Estimates/Invoices explaining all charges.
Turning wrenches and fixing mechanical, electrical, or other components.
There is a reason that other shops won't take on a bike older than 15-20 years... Parts are hard to find, every job is more complicated than it should be, and old components are fragile and often break. Yak's MMX is not afraid of these challenges but it simply costs more.
Yak's MMX typically bids on major projects. When this occurs our labor rate will vary based upon the scope of the project and will be charged as a separate line item clearly stating the hourly rate. If the full scope of a project or large repair is not known at the time of work start, Yak's MMX will bill in four (4) hour increments until the work is completed.

Yak's MMX can mount (and balance, as required) all motorcycle, dirtbike, and ATV tires. We are also able to swap out most UTV and SxS tires. *Some UTV and SxS tires can exceed our machine's capability. Please give us a call if your UTV or SxS has oversized tires.
Bring us the wheel, removed from your bike.
Just bring us the bike and we will remove and reinstall the front wheel for you.
Rear tire swaps always take a bit longer than the front. Final drive chains, belts, exhaust, and other components need to be removed to get to the rear wheel axle. Additionally, installation of a rear wheel is more elaborate than the front wheel. Wheel alignment is critically important to maintain safe operation of the motorcycle.
If your dirt bike has a rim lock, no problem. Rim locks prevent the tire from "slipping" or "rotating" around the wheel during acceleration and deceleration. When this rotation occurs, the valve stem becomes damaged (if not completely severed) and an air leak is likely to result.
Some dirt bikes have two rim locks on the rear wheel for additional anti-rotation protection. Two rim locks work better than one but take more time to dismount and remount the tube and tire.
Swapping out one tire.
Swapping two tires on the same axle.
Some older ATVs/UTVs & SxSs are equipped with split-rim style wheels. There is an additional $25 charge per split-rim.
Riders have been using nitrogen in their tires for decades, but why? Nitrogen is considerably more stable than ambient air in temperature extremes and altitude changes. Additionally, nitrogen does not seep out of your tires like ambient air does. Furthermore, nitrogen prohibits moisture, preventing wheel corrosion and tire valve rust. Tires filled with nitrogen will hold their pressure for considerably longer than tires filled with ambient air resulting in consistent tire performance in all cond
All tires are vacuumed to a negative pressure to ensure all existing moisture is boiled off before we fill the tire with nitrogen. The vacuuming process is a critical step that separates Yak's MMX from other shops.
